What are the signs of high blood pressure?
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, which is why it is called a silent condition. Some people have headaches, dizziness or blurred vision, but many feel completely well.
The only way to know is to have your blood pressure measured. Adults should check it regularly at a clinic or pharmacy, especially with a family history, diabetes, overweight or age over 40.
Less salt, regular exercise, a healthy weight and not smoking all help. If your readings are high, see a doctor, who may recommend medicine. Chest pain, severe headache or sudden weakness need urgent care.
